Post the tests, follow every plot, and get the certificates back in one place
Stop chasing testers and site teams by phone. Import your plots, send the work to testers already working nearby or the ones you already trust, and see each result, retest and certificate as soon as it's recorded.
Your plot list in, without retyping it
Set up a customer, a development, its phases and plots, then say what each plot needs: air test and target, sound tests, ventilation. Or import the lot from a spreadsheet.
- CSV or Excel import with a template, a validation report, and safe re-imports when the plot list changes
- Copy test requirements across plots and house types
- Release plots as they're built: bulk-create and post the jobs in one go
- Houses, flats and blocks, several tests per plot, and every attempt
Import template columns
| Column | Example |
|---|---|
| Plot | 104 |
| Address, Postcode | 12 Ashwood Way, SG1 2AB |
| House type, Phase | Type C, Phase 2 |
| Air target | 5.0 |
| SAP reference | Your reference |
| Sound / ventilation test required | Yes / No |
| Notes | Anything the tester should know |
Choose how each job finds a tester
Each job says which test and scheme it needs. Testers add their scheme membership number to their profile, and you see it marked as self-declared, so you can check it on the scheme's register as you would now.
Marketplace
Set the fee, retest fee and cancellation fee. Testers who cover the area and do that test see it, with route fit showing who's already passing.
Invite or allocate
Send the job to a tester or testing company you already use, or allocate it to your own team.
Preferred tester
Make a tester preferred for a site. Offer them first refusal for a set number of hours before the marketplace, or allocate automatically when they're free.
Ask for prices
Not sure of the going rate? Ask local testers for sealed quotes and compare price, earliest date, route fit and scheme membership side by side.
Nobody drives to a plot that isn't ready
24 hours before a visit, the site contact is asked a simple question by text or email: "Is Plot 51 ready for testing?" Yes, no, or not sure. A "no" tells you and the tester straight away and marks the job not ready, so nobody wastes a journey.
Readiness checklists are set per test type. For an air test, for example: windows and doors installed, seals complete, water traps filled, service penetrations sealed, power available and the plot clearly identified.
An honest record of every plot
What happened, when, who tested it, with what equipment, and what was issued.
Every attempt kept
Fails are recorded with the measured value, defects, photos and recommendations. A retest is a new attempt linked to the first. Nothing is deleted or overwritten, and corrections need a reason.
Certificates against the plot
The tester lodges with their scheme, then uploads the certificate and lodgement reference. You see outstanding certificates for every site at a glance.
Prices stay private
Site managers never see fees. Your own selling price and margin notes are visible only to people in your organisation with commercial access.
Lower-carbon testing
Work goes to testers who are already passing your site, plots on the same site share one visit, and readiness checks stop wasted trips. You see the estimated miles and CO2e saved, with the method published.
Lower-carbon testingFeedback both ways
After a job you'll rate the tester on punctuality, communication, professionalism and report quality, never on the result. Testers rate the job information and site readiness too.
Trust and feedbackWhat does it cost an assessor?
Nothing, always. Posting jobs, managing sites and plots, imports, site manager links and dashboards are free. Testers pay for the business tools they use.
Can I keep using the testers I already work with?
Yes. Invite them to a job, make them preferred for a site with first refusal, or allocate directly. The marketplace is there for when they can't do it.
Does TestConnect check a tester's scheme membership?
Not as a rule. TestConnect isn't a scheme and doesn't audit or certify testers. Testers add their scheme membership number to their profile, and it's shown to you marked as self-declared, so you can check it on the scheme's own register as you would today. A tester can ask us to look over their details, which adds a "details checked" badge, but that isn't a certification. The certificate and lodgement reference are uploaded against the plot.
Does TestConnect lodge certificates for us?
No. Testers lodge with their scheme as they do now, then upload the certificate and lodgement reference, so you can see it against the plot.
Can the developer see what we pay the tester?
No, unless the developer posted the job themselves. Tester fees are visible only to the job owner's commercial roles and the tester's organisation. Site managers never see prices.
Bring your next site across
Import the plot list, post the first tests and send the site manager their link. Free for assessors, always.
