Who is responsible for your data
Wilgenry Software Ltd, which operates TestConnect, is the controller for account, platform and security data [ICO registration number]. Organisations that use TestConnect, such as a testing company or a housebuilder, are responsible for the business records they create about their own customers, jobs and sites. For those records, we process the data on their behalf.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, organisation, role, and sign-in and security events.
- Tester profile: the tests you do, your base postcode and, only if you choose to add them, scheme membership numbers, qualifications, insurance and equipment calibration dates.
- Job records: sites, plots, appointments, results, photos, certificates, messages and invoices.
- Location: a tester's location is shared with the site only while they are travelling to a job, and only if they have switched this on. Sharing stops when they arrive. We keep the arrival point as evidence of the visit.
- Device data: push notification tokens and basic technical logs.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract).
- To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and keep compliance records accurate (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax records (legal obligation).
- For live location sharing and marketing emails (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Who can see it
Each organisation's data is kept separate inside the database, and people see only what their role needs. Site managers never see prices. Private jobs that a tester runs for their own customers are visible only to that tester's organisation. Platform staff can see an organisation's data only through time-limited access granted for a support case, and that access is recorded. Our suppliers process data only on our instructions. They provide hosting in the UK or EU, email delivery, and the optional SMS, push notification and Stripe payment services.
How long we keep it
Test results, certificates and related job records are kept for [15] years because they form part of a building's compliance evidence. Invoices are kept for 6 years. Live location trails are deleted after [30] days. Closed accounts are anonymised, but we keep business records that other organisations rely on.
Your rights
You can access, export or correct your personal data (the "Download all my data" option in the app gives you a copy of everything, including photos and certificates), ask us to delete it, object to some types of processing, and withdraw your consent. Use Settings → Privacy in the app, or email support@testconnect.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

We use only essential cookies, to keep you signed in securely. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
